Dear Self-Doubt

Dear self-doubt,

You have served me well for quite a while.

You’ve  kept me in check while I thought of taking a  step

and asked me 432 times if I was sure I was enough.

Through  the  challenges you’ve been my loyal filter of what is possible and what dreams need to be left aside.

I thank you, my constant companion, for your careful watch.

I will now let you travel far, go find new vistas, enjoy,

dear one: get some rest for a while!

(on this new moon)

I have some dreams to take care of

and my backpack is too tiny

to carry you with me this time around.

In gratitude,

good-bye.
